Booking Online
Here are a few sites that we find helpful when booking airline tickets online: Google Flights, ITA Matrix, Hipmunk, Skiplagged, Skyscanner.
Best Time to Book
There is an opportune time to book travel online that can save you money. First, you never want to wait until the last minute. It is very rare to get great deals last second. On average, you may be paying up to $111 more than you would if you booked farther out than 14 days. You never want to book too early, either. The penalty isn’t as big, but still, you should wait for the prices to go down; airline flights are typically at their most expensive when first announced. The best time is about 47 days in advance. That is what a few travel sites are telling us. That’s Aug. 2 if you’re getting to Seattle on Sept. 18.
We also hear Tuesdays are a good day to buy tickets. And try to avoid purchasing tickets on Saturdays and Sundays.
The Best Value
If you’re able to, try to skip filtering out preference options, like red-eye, for example. By being flexible with travel dates and times, you may be able to get a better deal.
By Bus or Train
The trip is gorgeous any time of year, and if you have the time and the want to take in the scenery by train or bus, here are a few links to help you on your adventure:
Road TriP
There are so many people traveling from all over North America to the show, many on tour and others just making a fun road trip of it all. Connect with other performers on our Facebook Group page! Perhaps you will find a travel buddy or even a touring partner.
See you there.
